Throughout the Morgan Hill 2035 process, City staff and consultants will be attending community events to meet residents and business owners, explain the project, and hear feedback.
Taste of Morgan Hill: Steve Maxey, Assistant Planner, and Joanna Winter, consultant staff, attended the 2014 Taste of Morgan Hill festival to raise awareness of the ongoing Morgan Hill 2035 process; inform the community about the emerging Preferred Land Use Plan; and answer questions about Morgan Hill 2035 and other important planning efforts currently underway.
4th of July Freedom Fest(2014): Mitch Oshinsky, Morgan Hill 2035 Project Manager, staffed a booth at Morgan Hill’s annual 4th of July celebration, attended by over 20,000 people, to distribute the first Morgan Hill 2035 newsletter, hand out meeting fliers, and answer questions about the project.
South County Business Council: Edith Ramirez, Economic Development Manager and a key City staff person on the project, has attended several meetings of the South County Business Council to update this local group on the process and to hear feedback on issues the project should address.
St. Catherine’s Catholic Church: On November 10, 2013, City staff and the consultant, accompanied by GPAC Vice-Chair Mario Bañuelos and Planning Commissioner Joe Mueller, conducted a Spanish-language meeting with about 80 attendees, to give an overview of the Morgan Hill 2035 project and respond to questions and concerns from participants.
